Why cloud multistreaming beats doing it locally
The obvious way to reach three platforms is to open three RTMP connections from your own machine. The arithmetic is what kills it.
A single 1080p60 stream at 6,000 kbps needs roughly 6 Mbps of sustained upload. Three of them need 18 Mbps, continuously, for the entire broadcast, more than most home connections can hold steady, and any dip hits all three streams at once. Add the CPU cost of encoding three outputs and a mid-range machine is finished.
Cloud multistreaming inverts it. You upload the file once, at whatever speed you have, with no deadline. Our servers then open the three RTMP connections from a datacentre with bandwidth that does not care. Your connection is out of the picture the moment the upload completes.

How to multistream a video

Set up the live event on each platform
Create the broadcast on every destination you want to hit and collect each one's RTMP URL and stream key. The stream key guide covers all of them.

Claim a slot and upload once
At streamza.live/studio, upload the video a single time. It is stored once and read once, no matter how many destinations you add.

Add up to three destinations
Paste each URL and key as a separate destination: YouTube, Twitch and a custom endpoint, or any other combination. Built-in platforms fill their URL in automatically.

Go live everywhere at once
One press starts all three RTMP connections together, so the broadcasts begin in sync. Then confirm the go-live on whichever platforms require it.

Choose your destination mix carefully
Reaching everywhere at once is not automatically the right move. Three things worth thinking about:
- Exclusivity contracts. Twitch Partners in particular have contractual limits on streaming the same content to other platforms at the same time. Check your agreement before pairing Twitch with anything.
- Split chat. Three platforms means three separate comment threads. For a pre-recorded broadcast where nobody is answering live anyway this matters less, but it is worth knowing.
- The lowest ceiling wins. All destinations receive the same file, so your export has to satisfy the strictest one. Twitch caps at 6,000 kbps, so a YouTube-plus-Twitch multistream should export at or below 6,000 kbps even though YouTube would accept far more.

How many platforms can I stream to at once?

Does multistreaming use three times my upload bandwidth?
No. You upload the file once and the three outbound RTMP connections originate from our servers. This is the main practical advantage over multistreaming from your own machine, where three destinations really does mean three times the upload.
Do I need to pay to multistream?
No. Any slot claim can multistream to up to three destinations at once, free — no upgrade, no card.
Can I mix built-in platforms with a custom RTMP server?
Yes. YouTube plus Twitch plus your own server is a perfectly normal combination. Every destination is just a URL and a key.
What if one destination fails?
The other connections are independent, so a rejected key or an unreachable server on one destination does not stop the rest.
Do all destinations get the same quality?
Yes. The same file is relayed to each one. Export to satisfy the strictest platform in your set, since there is no per-destination transcoding.
Is multistreaming against any platform's rules?
